This couple will entertain you or share in ministry through their music of classic country & southern gospel singing with Ron playing a variety of instruments, (steel guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, banjo & accordion). Ron and Opal were the recipients of the Vocal Duo of the Year award from the Country Hayride Opry several years ago. They received the 2007, 2008, and 2011 CGMA (Country Gospel Music Association) International Duo of the Year Award. In 2009 they were honored to receive the Country Gospel Connection Choice Awards "Duo of the Year." Ron is an accomplished steel guitarist who has appeared on several country music shows throughout the mid-west. He was a regular member of the K.C. Opry in Kansas City, MO for 12 years as a featured singer and steel guitarist for the house band. He was also a band member on the Country Hayride Opry in Excelsior Springs, MO and made regular appearances on Cousin Pud’s Country Jamboree for several years. Opal grew up in south Georgia singing classic country and southern style gospel music in church. She has been a featured singer on all of the shows Ron has worked and you’ll find that she has one of the most outstanding female voices ever heard in country and gospel music. Opal received the 2009 Central Division CGMA Female Vocalist of the Year award. After relocating to Branson in 1991, Ron & Opal took their own show on the road in 2000, performing for RV resorts, RV rallies, car shows and ministering in traditional churches, Cowboy Churches and many other events all across America. For three years they were the official ambassadors on the road for the "Roy Rogers& Dale Evans Theater and Museum" in Branson, MO So from the fabulous fifties and cowboy harmonies to Southern Gospel, it just doesn't get much better than that.
